REFLECTION WEEK 7

WEEK 7 !!

This week, Miss Amreet gives us lecture about writing style and grammar when write for the web and blog. She showed us the proper way to write and she also showed a few sources such as APA style for us to use when writing. We need to use it whenever we write for the web.

STAY CONSISTENT !!

The key to write successfully is to keep our writing as consistent and accurate as possible. We shouldn't changes our writing style too much as it could make the reader confuse and lose interest to read. Miss Amreet also explained the different between academic writing and creative writing. We can't express in detail what we actually feel because of the format in academic writing but we can do that when using creative writing. Creative writing has no rules that prevent us to write about what we wanted to.

REFLECTION WEEK 6

WEEK 6

Assalamualaikum and hello all. This week in Writing for Multimedia and the Web course brings us more presentation to bear. Shut up and listen. Just listen. Listen.

On Wednesday class, Miss Amreet taught us on how to do our pair work assignments. She showed us the softwares to do the advertisement such as by using PowerToon and Wix.com. I choose Wix.com since it is much easier to be used compared to PowerToon. After done with the lecture, Miss Amreet asked for five volunteers to do the presentations.

As usual, I, the procrastination master reserved the back seat and enjoy my popcorn while listening to the presentation.

Ammar presented about Sungai Chilling Fish Sanctuary while Izzatul Azmira presented about selfie. She even made demonstration on how to take a proper selfie.

Ain came next after Izzatul with an amazing topic '10 Weirdest Diseases'. Her topic was not just interesting but also full of great informations. We enjoyed the presentation very much. Some of the diseases are ‘Werewolf Syndrome : The Wolf People’, ‘ Blue Skin Disease : The Blue People’, ‘Vampire Disease : Afraid of the Sun’, ‘Elephantiasis : Enlarged Members’, ‘Progeria : The 80-year-old Children’ and others.

Then, Nur Nadzmi took place the presentation. As what I can conclude from her presentation is, ‘Friday the 13th’ is considered as an unlucky date in Western. Her topic was somehow very scary but I enjoyed her presentation so much.

The presentation continued with five presenter. Imaan volunteered herself to present on that day. Her topic was '12 Ways To Get Paid To Travel The World'. Next, Syuhada came after Imaan with her topic 'Ferrero Rocher'. After that, Asshikin came with the topic 'Places Around the World'. She showed us many beautiful places we can visit in the world. The last presenter was Faizul Izwan with his topic about 7 Wonder in the World.

REFLECTION WEEK 5

Week 5 !!

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone. This week is still the presentation week. Last week, seven of us had presented "willingly".

When entering the class ( late as usual but Miss Amreet didn't arrive yet ) I heard some student talking about volunteering themselves to present. They are very excited to finish their presentation and focus to another assignment. This is because other courses were also start to giving assignment to us. Miss Amreet told us that she was not feeling very well due to toothache. She took antibiotics to release the illness and she would like to make the presentations faster. She was also asked us to reduce the music volume since her ear was buzzing.

As a "well trained procrastinator", I shall pass on volunteering myself and enjoy listening to them and their presentation instead of presenting.

All the presenter for this week.

The presentation was started by Sheryl Oon on title ‘Nightmares’. She became the first presenter on that day as she was very eager to start the presentation. Sheryl listed out a lot variety of examples on nightmares and stated the reasons why we could get those nightmares. Besides, Sheryl also shares about her nightmare too.

Nadia came next after Sheryl. Truthly, I know nothing about bibliomania as I am not interested on knowing about bibliomania. The definition of bibliomania is a symptom of obsessive-compulsive disorder which involves the collecting or even hoarding of books to the point where social relations or health are damage. After that, Ifwat presented about Walt Disney which I find very interesting. She explains to us about Walt Disney very well. From a cartoonist in his colleague then he finally managed to create Disney. He has coloured our lives with his wonderful creations. Then, Zayana continued the presentation. She chose the topic “Vampire Vs Werewolves”. She put many scary photos on her slides and I found it as a good way for her since she attracted the audience’s attention where we were very interested with horror things.

Then, Zahid came out with an impressive topic which is rugby. He stated the positions of Rugby players and told the class he was a Rugby player with jersey number 7. I was interested to his presentation because I love watching a rugby match. With his tough body, I believed he was a good Rugby player.

Aynaa came after Zahid with her topic “Rolls Royce : The Phantom Family. I simply don’t give a full attention to her presentation. Aynaa showed to the class a lot of sophisticated cars and how they designed the cars.

The last presenter was Ezlyn Fardiha. Ezlyn with her topic “Love Letter” really entertained us. She brought back our childhood memories when we used love letter to communicate with our love ones. Honestly, it was a romantic presentation with a soft song as a background.

The other presenter also done their job quite well. I was able to keep focus to all the presentation without feeling sleepy. Then Miss Amreet call to the end of the class as she can't bear the pain that she kept all by herself.

REFLECTION WEEK 4

Fourth week. Presentation week !!

As I had mentioned. This week is the Prezi online presentation week, we need to present our topic that had been approved by Miss Amreet in front the whole class. Although we had presented countless time before this, I'm still nervous to do it as I worried that my point didn't reach the audience/my classmates.

Luckily, after a while waiting for the volunteer, Miss Amreet call seven names to start presenting because she didn't wanted to waste any more time. All the seven "lucky" person start to present that day. They were Masmira, Lucy, Nor Ashiqin, Afiq, Eric, Lui Yin and Bao Yi.

These are all the presenter that present their topic that day.

Masmira the first presenter.

Masmira present about "Animal Communication" to us. The topic is very unique and interesting as we didn't know about the existence of communication between animal. I always thought that animal just simply know what to do and didn't communicate at all.

Nor Ashiqin Ridzuan. The second "lucky" presenter.

The second presenter with her topic "Japanese Kimono", which is Japanese traditional outfit that been wore to the festival.

The third presenter.

Lucyana Syura with her presentation entitled "Good Luck Symbols". Some of the common symbol that we use is thumbs up.

The rest of presenter which is Eric Hugh with his presentation "All About Steve Jobs". Afiq Aiman present on "Top 5 Super Bikes" topic. The first in the chart is really amazing, the speed, the design and performance is unimaginable.

Teo Bao Yi with "Sleepwalking" topic. I can conclude that this "disease" is very dangerous as we didn't know and unconscious while walking in our sleep. And the last presenter Tan Lui Yin presented about "Japanese Festival".

REFLECTION WEEK 3

Third week of Writing for Multimedia and the Web class.

The third week is closing so, here I am writing the reflection of the week. This week, Miss Amreet explain more about the blog that we supposed to do. Here are what we all should have in our blog.
              1. Link to our Academic Webpage ( we will do it on week 6)
              2. Three main essay about ourselves.
                   - Myself
                   - My Family
                   - My Friend
              3. Weekly reflection ( what I'm doing right now )
              4. Six different essay ( narrative, descriptive etc. )

I'm like, woahhhhhhhhh, that's a hell lot of work. Miss Amreet explain further regarding this while I wandering on how we suppose to deal with this. But in her explanation, she teach us on how to manage time well and how to stole some time and do the reflection. She also encourage us that with this assignment, we can improve many things that we'll face being a student. Well, I admit that all of it were true.

This is just how awesome this assignment are. If I can deal with this, I can deal with everything.

Next, Miss Amreet continue the class with the Prezi presentation topic approval session. She need to know what our topic before we can start the presentation, this is to make sure that the topic is suitable and unique. She wanted to make sure that the audience is interested with our topic and they got new knowledge as the presentation begin the following week.

I choose the "MEASAT satellite" topic because I think it will be interesting as we use internet everyday and without the satellite, we won't have the Internet in Malaysia. The satellite got many other function and I will explain it further in the presentation.

REFLECTION WEEK 2

Second week of Writing for Multimedia and the Web course.

On second week class, Miss Amreet explained us about the assignments. There are many assignment are waiting for us. The first assignment is we need to find an interesting topic to make a Prezi presentation. Prezi is a presentation tool that can be used as an alternative to traditional slide making programs such as PowerPoint.

PREZI online presentation software.

She doesn't need to explain more regarding the Prezi software as we already know what and how to use that presentation software. We had been teach to use it from English for ICT course in second semester with Mr. Zahren. We need to search a good topic, interesting topic to share with. The Prezi presentation start on week 4. We need to get her approval before we can present the topic that we choose.

Next assignment is a pair work. We need to do the homepage and the web advertisement. Web advertisement is we need to promote something by using our creativity in multimedia. The most interesting assignment is creating a blog. Since I do not own a blog before this so I felt so excited to create a blog.

Sorry for the unclear picture. We can choose which platform to use to create our own blog. I prefer Blogger which is more user-friendly and easy to use.

This week is very entertaining as we got a lot of surprise from Miss Amreet. Besides, we need to prepare physical and mentally in order to finish all the assignment that she will assign us within this course.

REFLECTION WEEK 1

This first week, I went to the class as usual like the last semester. Obviously, I am still not ready to open my eyes as wide as would be prudent but thinking of all the knowledge that I would gain for this new semester make me exited to go through this semester. Thinking of new courses, new lecturer and new knowledge that I could get.

As usual, my friends, Faizul and Ammar including myself is the late trio. We were late to almost all the morning class as we struggle to wake up early in the morning. This problem is almost incurable to three of us. We went to Miss Amreet class little late but Miss Amreet forgive us because its the first class and our excuses not knowing the class venue safe us this time. We began our class by introducing ourselves. Later she ask who the group leader is. We told Miss Amreet that Khairulanwar is our class representative.
Me and Khairul ( group representative a.k.a group leader a.k.a "ketua kelas" )

Miss Amreet began to introducing the course to us. She then explain all the coursework that we need to complete within this 14 weeks of lecture. The way she explain it makes us very excited to know more about all the assignment as she told us that all the assignment would increase our knowledge based on multimedia and the web itself.

Miss Amreet explaining the course to her student.

At the end of class, Miss Amreet let us know that she will divide some of our classmate to make Group C as we are  going to utilize the lab for this course. She needs to work through our works separately in the class. I simply trust that I would get a high pointer for this subject. I trust I can do well in this subject and inspire myself past the cutoff in light of the fact that nobody else is going to do it for me.

MY FRIEND

Close friendships are hard to come by these days. In an ever-changing world with people striving to achieve their interpretation of preordained success, it is hard to know who your true friends are. Fortunately, I found my best pal early at the tender age of seven. We were both enrolled at the same school and were at wits’ ends as we searched tirelessly for our designated classes.

Ammar and I got acquainted as both of us were in the same class and sat next to each other. Ammar was a happy boy who always managed to breathe fresh air into the sometimes arid classroom. She always knew what to say and would voice them at the best possible moments. Both pupils and teachers alike enjoyed his company and liveliness. There was hardly ever a dull moment when he was around with her funny quips and expressions.

Ammar was born with a silver spoon. His father was a businessman and his mother owned and ran a boutique. Both his parents were very caring towards him as he, just like I, was the only child of the family. Ammar came to school each day with a perpetual smile. He was a very nice person to be around with. He and I used to go everywhere together and both of us were rarely seen apart. We used to talk about so many things as we walked, thoroughly enjoying our time together.

One day, I went to school and forgot to ask my parents for lunch money. At first, I was not hungry and thought I could bear going without a meal but soon, my stomach began to growl. Without asking, Ammar generously paid for my meal and drinks during recess. The incident revealed to me how lucky I was to have such a caring and compassionate friend.

Currently, Ammar and I are studying at different university. It was hard to be apart at first, but technology in the form of instant messaging and e-mails have helped to bridge the gap in our friendship. I sincerely wish our friendship will never end as it would be equivalent to waking up from a beautiful dream.

MY FAMILY

Have you ever been influenced by some important person that helped you be the person that you are today? I have been. The people that have had influence on me are the most important humans beings, my family. But before I begin talking about my family, I want to describe to you the place that we spend most of the time together which also means something important to me and my family. This place is called the family room. This room is small but cozy. It is painted in white and has three windows decorated with beautiful curtains. By the windows you can appreciate a nice view of some beautiful trees and a nice pool. On the walls there are some family photos like the ones that show where my brothers and I were born, my graduation photo, some family members photos like my grandparents, and some paintings made by one of my brothers. Also inside this room there is a nice home theater that includes a nice stereo and TV, and a new compact computer. But this is not all, this room has some very comfortable furniture and I can say that they are comfortable because I use them to watch TV, a movie, or just sit and rest. Also the furniture is used by my brothers to sit and play nitendo, to study, or play with the computer. But from all this furniture there is one chair that is the most cozy chair that I have ever sat upon and that is my father's chair. So this is our room, which is very important to us and has a lot of special things, but the most special part of this room is when it brings my family together.

I could begin the book of my life with a picture of my parents. They are important because they helped in my development. Also, they gave me the things that I needed to grow up in the moment that I needed and they still gave me everything that I needed to become somebody in the future. Among these things is the education that I have received all in my life, my basic needs like food, clothes, medicine, a place to live, and the most important thing, the love. Like for example, by being there when I needed somebody to talk to and giving me speeches when I do something wrong. Also, they care for me when I am sick and they give me the necessary things to get better. They teach me good values like how to behave, to respect other people, and to share with other people. Sometimes they push me in certain directions and have high expectations for me, but now I really appreciate everything they have taught me. I understand why they do certain things and it is because my parents want the best for me. On certain occasions I get mad, but later appreciate their words of wisdom and understand. My parents are wonderful.

Now, about the rest of my family, my two brothers all I can say is that they are wonderful, too. With them I have learned to share, to have fun, and to understand different points of view in different situations. They are younger than me, but that doesn't matter because sometimes people think that because they are older they know everything and that is not true, we can learn from those younger than us too. Also I have shared moments in which we laughed, or we get sad, but there are always moments that I will remember.

In conclusion families made the difference in many of the situations that life gives you and without them you would be unable to give the love and support to your children need which they need to become mature and responsible adults. Thanks to my family today I can said all of these things to other people.

MYSELF

Assalamualaikum wbt ……. J

This is the first entry for this blog and I’ll try to make it short. Even though creating this blog is only for our assignment purpose but I’ll update it as this is my first blog and I wish I’d got to learn something new by “blogging”.

My name is Muhammad Hazwan Bin Mohamad Shaupi and by the time I’m writing this I’m 19 years and 4 month old. I’m from Pahang, Malaysia but currently stay in Tanjung Malim, Perak furthering my study. I’m a Diploma in English student at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris.

I’m trying to make my life as simple as I can. Befriend with everyone from any courses they are and avoid from making any enemy because for me, I think the enemy will ruin my student life. I’ve my own reputation and I will take care of it. I couldn’t afford my reputation that I’d build so far ruined by some scumbag enemy.

Okay. Forget the paragraph above. I had born in Kuantan. I live in Kuantan. I started my primary school in Kuantan. I continued to secondary school in Kuantan. The reason I repeat Kuantan many time because I love Kuantan. My very existence is all about Kuantan.

Let me tell a story. When I registered to UPSI, I got many friends from different state. They always asked me why I didn’t speak like any Pahanese and why I’m using Kelantan and Terengganu’s slang. Even I didn’t realised that. Maybe because Kuantan is very close to Terengganu. That’s why. My father and grandmother came from Kelantan and they had influenced me in the way of slang. I didn’t even know how to speak in Pahang’s slang.

Actually, there’s nothing interesting with my life. I’m just ordinary person that always make mistakes like other. Sometimes I feel like a wrecking ballllll (sing instead of just reading).

Okay that’s all. I’m done here. May peace be upon you. :)
